Roverandom, by J. R. R. Tolkien
This is an adorable story about a dog, Rover, going on an adventure after being turned in to a tiny toy dog. Wonderful story, I recommend.

Raybearer, by Jordan Ifueko
Tarisai has been isolated for most of her life until her mother, the Lady, decides to send her away to join the Crown Prince’s council. I adore this YA fantasy and has been my fave read of 2021 so far. I highly recommend it. Be warned, the book ruined reading for me for a bit there because I enjoyed it so much. Get a Life, Chloe Brown, by Talia Hibbert
The first book of Hibbert’s Brown Sisters series where we focus on the eldest Brown sister, Chloe. Chloe lives with fibromyalgia at home with her parents. After a near-death experience, she decides she needs to live life and moves out on her own. This is a funny steamy romantic comedy. You can read my book review here.

How to Be a Good Creature: A Memoir in Thirteen Animals, by Sy Montgomery
Sy Montgomery – part Indiana Jones and part Emily Dickinson – tells us about the animals that have had a major impact on her life. Funny and meaningful stories that take us around the world. Short read.

The House in the Cerulean Sea, by TJ Klune
I adore this fantasy. Linus Baker, 40, a caseworker who lives a solitary life with his cat, gets thrown into an assignment filled with mysteries and adventure. This is cotton candy in book form. My review of the book can be found here.

The Gilded Ones, by Namina Forna
Deka is rejected by society and gets the choice of either execution or joining the Emperor’s army consisting of young women like her. YA fantasy with a lovely found family. You can see my review of the book here.

Take a Hint, Chloe Brown, by Talia Hibbert
The second instalment of Hibbert’s Brown Sisters series, where we follow middle sister Dani Brown – PhD student, busy with reaching her goals and has a history of people demanding too much of her emotionally compared to what she has the capacity for. Plus, due to a certain past relationship, she also has trust issues. This has led her to believe, that she is incapable of having a relationship – let alone a romantic one – and therefore prefers having friends with benefits. Funny, steamy and sweet. Would recommend.

The Mystery of Black Hollow Lane, by Julia Nobel
Middle-Grade mystery with a young girl, Emmy, whose mother is a renowned and extremely busy child psychologist. Due to the mother’s busy schedule, Emmy gets send to a boarding school in England. Here she meets Jack and Lola and together they investigate the mysteries of secret societies and her father’s disappearance. Would recommend.

Tomorrow, by Damian Dibben
This is a wonderfully sweet historical fantasy about an immortal dog looking for his immortal master. We travel around the world, meet sweet and interesting characters, and perhaps cry a bit. Would aslo recommend.

Things to do Before the End of the World, by Emily Barr
A book I’ve read for a blog tour. YA thriller about a young teen girl challenging herself to live her life before the end of the world.
